Starting a Vending Machine Company For Fun and Profit

Saturday, August 28, 2010

Whether you're selling snacks, soda, candy, or something else, a vending machine company can turn you a tremendous profit in a relatively short amount of time. The reason: these products can be sold for a tremendous markup in locations where hundreds or even thousands of people travel every day. You've seen it yourself if you've ever walked into a grocery store and seen them lining the walls. More than likely, you've bought from them yourself, perhaps even grumbling about the "outrageous price". These are purchases of impulse and convenience, and they can make you rich if you know how to get started.

The best way to get a vending machine company started is to find a wholesaler who sells the devices to people like you. If you can, find a business that does more than simply selling the parts and equipment. Some of these businesses offer much more for your dollar, including training, helpful tools, and limitless support. If you don't have any experience in the field, this expertise can make the difference between success and failure. Look for businesses that have been around and have established a good reputation. There are numerous vendor message boards and forums online. Peruse these and find good places to invest and ideas about getting started. You may be surprised about how much you learn.

Once you've made your initial investment, you'll need to determine what types of products you want to sell. Don't feel as though you have to limit yourself to colas or candy bars. Toys, DVDs, and even computer games have been sold with great success at various locations around the country. Find a niche that you think might be profitable and exploit it for all it is worth. Again, this is where an initial training class can be so invaluable. Starting any business from scratch can be scary and confusing. A good training course, where you can learn from the best, can set you off on the right foot.

After getting a product, you'll need to find a location for your stock. Big stores such as Target and Wal-Mart bring in enormous amounts of people every day. These could be good locations, but there is likely to be a great deal of competition. Don't be afraid to look for smaller locations where the competition might not be so intense. Think about your location in terms of your product. If it's a kid-friendly product, you might look at toy stores, parks, and other areas that will see a lot of kids come by. Present the manager of the location with a presentation that outlines his benefits for having your products in the front of their store.

Once you've placed your first machines, you can sit back and start working on the general maintenance of your route. This will include refilling, small repair, and charting your profits. Running a vending machine company doesn't take a lot of time, but the money you'll make can be often comparable to (or much better than) a full time job.

YouTube Marketing Strategies - For Video Marketing Newbies

If you're after YouTube marketing strategies you've come to the right place.  Here are some tips on marketing on YouTube to help you get started.

YouTube is one of the most popular sites on the Internet, and one of the most searched sites.  Leveraging the popularity of YouTube to promote your affiliate marketing sites, can bring you added traffic, and higher search engine rankings.

When people are trying to learn about products, many times they will visit YouTube to see if someone has a video showing, demonstrating, and discussing the product.  The power of a video demonstrating and discussing a product has more impact than the simple written text about the product.  You will also see the same thing in "How To" topics.  If you can watch someone perform a task, compared to reading about how they did it, you can often learn much quicker.

When you search for information on Google, you will notice that quite often relevant YouTube videos show up near the top of the Google listings.  We would all love to have our content listed high on Google, to drive more traffic to our offers.  Using YouTube videos gives you a greater opportunity to reach the front page of Google.

By creating great product review, and product "how to" videos on YouTube, you can leverage this power, creating additional traffic flowing into your sales sites.  Making consistent money in affiliate marketing requires you create a consistent flow of readers and viewers into your sales sites.  YouTube is a great way to increase and maintain that traffic.

When I create a video to promote one of my affiliate sites, I place a link to my site as the first item in the description of my video.  You can not create a link with anchor text, so it does not have as much impact as a keyword focused link, but is still relevant.   Also, I place a mention of my website address at both the beginning and ending of my video, as an overlay on the video.

You need to make sure you include your important keyword phrases in both the description of your video, and also in the tags for the video.  The tags and description will aid in people finding your video, and also in ranking for Google results.

On some of my affiliate marketing sites, YouTube videos have represented almost 50% of my daily traffic, with a mix between clicks from the description and with people typing in my website address.  Many times it has been the difference between one of my affiliate sites not making money, and becoming a profitable part of my affiliate money making business.

When I have created a good review video of a product to use on YouTube, I will also embed the video into my affiliate sales site.  This gives my other readers the opportunity to both read my product review, and also to watch the video.  Having videos on my affiliate marketing sites, often increases the sales conversion, increasing my profits.

Creating YouTube videos as part of your affiliate marketing strategy, can give you the added boost to make higher profits, changing a low producing site, into a good money maker.  These YouTube marketing strategies will help you get started taking advantage of the millions of videos being watched on YouTube.

Seven Things to Do to Make Money Online

Monday, August 16, 2010

If you wish to make money online, there are some important things you must do. Below is the list to serve as your guide:
1. Complete your business plan - Never start your business unless you have completed your plan. Diving into it unprepared would only cause you trouble in no time.
2. Specialize in a single product or service - Although it is very tempting to sell everything you can, it is absolutely not the best idea. It would be wise to focus on a single product and specialize on it. Doing so will enable you to optimize earning possibilities and also make you an authority on the niche.
3. Get your family involved - Encourage your family to help in the business. Doing so will not only give you more time to bond with each other but also allow you to learn and grow together.
4. Start small - Do not be tempted to open a grand business. It's OK to start slow and small. This way, you can calculate your moves well. Gain credentials and experience that will help you grow in the business efficiently. Remember that you can't have everything you want all at once.
5. Start as a moonlighter - No matter how promising your business idea is, it would always be wise to start as a moonlighter. Do not leave your day job too soon. In fact, you shouldn't leave it unless you are secured enough of your new business' success.
6. Build a user-friendly website - If you want to make money online, make sure that you build a website which is easy to navigate. A site that is too advanced may appear intimidating to people and may scare many prospective clients. The easier it is to navigate, the better.
7. Install a credit card purchasing function on the site - Everyone uses a credit card when they buy something both offline and online. Make sure that you install a credit card purchasing function on your website to encourage consumers to buy from you.
These are seven important things you should do if you want to make money online. If you have been toying with the idea of starting your own internet business, follow them and they will surely help you succeed in your venture.

5 Crucial Tips for Business Success

Saturday, August 14, 2010

What foot print will you leave in business? Will you be known as a failure or will you be known as a business success? Hopefully you will be known for the latter. The desire to be successful is the first step in any business success story. Desire alone will not take your business to the next level, nor will desire guarantee success. You will need a certain set of skills and abilities to become the leader of your organization.

Laser Light Focus

This phrase is a commonly used in business, but what does it mean? Having a strict attention to detail and noticing the opportunities which arise in all situations. Day in and day out you have to remain calm and possess a tenacity to correct your business obstacles. With a focus as extreme as this you must remain focused on the opportunity and not the person causing the problem. You are in the business to be successful, people concerns are important. More importantly are the issues which make them not successful.

Confidence

Having confidence in your abilities is good. Maintaining others confidence in their abilities is great. This is the business principle of good to great. Transform all aspects of your business from good to great by empowering strong performers and building the self-esteem of sub-par performers.

Initiative

If you are in a bad business environment which is spiraling out of control, what do you do? Do you simply stay on a sinking ship or think of the needs of your business? You must create a culture of business success by turning obstacles into opportunities. As the leader of your organization, the drive for excellence falls solely on your shoulders.

Servant Leadership

Do you simply talk the talk or are you willing to walk the talk? You have to show your organization you are willing and able to do the unexpected to succeed. Your business success depends on your ability to lead, empower, and hold others accountable, while still holding the highest level of honesty and integrity.

Visionary

Do you live in the now or can you see into the future? You may not be a fortune teller, but you must be able to think beyond the now. If the economy is on a downward spiral and no hope is in sight, how are you going to recover in your business? You expect the unexpected and plan as if the economy will never recover. You will have to adjust forecasts and business plans to be in alignment with current and future expectations.

Follow these important tips for leaders if you want to known as a business success story and not a failure. Remember being a leader is not a right, it's a privilege.

Money Saving Tips For Business Start Ups

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

When you're starting up a business one of the first things you need - aside from a sound proposal and plan - is capital. The old maxim is true, you need to spend money to make money, but the good news is that modern technology makes it easier than ever for you to minimise your running costs and get yourself started along the road to success.

Once you've established the scope and scale of your business idea and spent plenty of time tying down the products and services you plan to offer, you'll be looking for ways to advertise your services. While there are a still a number of traditional routes to go down - such as print, radio or TV advertising - the internet is a huge tool for any new business starting out. What's more, it can help you save money. While things like physical fliers can still be very effective for businesses providing local services, online spheres such as social media offer a way for you to connect with customers with very little outlay.

Social networking and promoting your company online can be a very cheap way to start, but you do need to make sure that you maintain your professionalism at all times and remember that you are always representing your company whenever you are online. It's also a good idea to make sure you don't reply solely on networking profiles and invest in a site of your own. Depending on your businesses offerings, this can be an inexpensive project and it's important in making sure your prospective customers think you are credible and trustworthy.
By the same token, ensuring that you have a respectable offline address can do a lot to ensure that your customers feel safe turning to you. If you can't afford premises in top business districts or areas, then you could consider virtual office services that provide you with access to office space in prime locations when needed as well as a permanent address and mail forwarding service. This way, you'll be able to offer clients all the convenience of meeting you in business hubs such as London and all of the reassurance of a London address, without you needing the capital to rent the space full time.

Virtual offices, call answering and mail forwarding services are often chosen by start up businesses keen to establish themselves. By choosing options such as these and being savvy about the way you set up and market yourselves and your services from the outset, you are likely to be setting yourself in good stead for future success.

Daniel Collins writes on a number of topics on behalf of a digital marketing agency and a variety of clients. As such, this article is to be considered a professional piece with business interests in mind.

If Your Kid Started a New Business, What Would it Be?

Friday, August 6, 2010

Have you ever asked your son or daughter what kind of business they would start? You've probably asked them what they want to be when they grow up, or someone has for sure.

Why not try a new twist on the old, extremely dated, industrial age question? Instead of asking your kids "Who are you going to work for?" why not ask them what they would create? Without limitations?

Interesting, huh?

Here's what a bunch of really great kids came up with this week - all between the ages of 7 to 11 years old:

Teach adults how to use their "smart" phones. Need I comment here? Do you know how to use all the functions on your iPhone or BlackBerry?

Vending machine business - placed at factories and business centers. He's donating revenue to a Women's Center.

Computer game creator. I won't give the name or concept away but it will be "the newest and awesomest game around."

Children's party planner - hosting parties for kids up to 8 years old. Donating a large portion of revenue to Haiti.

Online fashion for kids. Clothing and accessories. This adorable 10 year old from Australia "Quite likes spending time with younger children."

Fitness for kids all around the world. He's donating some of the revenue to local children's hospitals after seeing his 6-year-old friend die from cancer.

Video advertising for business owners. He will video interview people "in the real world" about their experience with your business and post it to YouTube.

Using social media in 20 minutes. He'll help you set up Twitter and Facebook and show you how to advertise your small business on your Facebook page... in 20 minutes.

Breed and raise pheasants & quails. Target market gourmet meat companies and hunting reserves. His 8-year-old sister will be selling designer flip-flops and hair bows online.

When it comes to ideas for new businesses kids can be creative and open-minded. They are incredibly future driven as well. Kids seem to get that a business is not built overnight and that they are building for tomorrow. They have no boundaries to their thought processes. Anything is possible.

Can we take a lesson from these kids?

How about you? Are you ready to believe that anything is possible? Do you realize that just about anything can be turned into a business?

Will you take the challenge and ask your kids what kind of business they would start today? Will you support them in believing they can do it? Intrigued? Leave me a comment over at my blog. Hope you have fun with this!

All of my best to you and your family,

7 Tips For Better Decision Making For an Entrepreneur

Thursday, August 5, 2010

Making difficult decisions are what will decide if as a business owner that you can succeed. Notice I did not say that making right decisions would decide if you succeeded or not, but just making the decisions. Many times business owners fail because of analysis paralysis. This is the most deadly disease a business can get. As a friend of my taught me many years ago, not making a decision is making a decision to not decide. These 7 business tips will help you avoid this deadly disease.

Tip #1 Be willing to succeed:

Start out with a plan and plan to succeed. If you have built a true business plan before you started your business and you have tweaked it as time goes by, you will have the best tool to help you make a decision. Go back and read your plan often. Look for places where it can be improved when it does not need to be. Solve problems before the arise and you will not have them arise.

Tip #2 Do not get delusional in expecting overnight success:

It is easy to dream that success will com easy, but the reality is that a lot of hard work goes into the making of a great business. Many people have proven that all the money in the world does not make a business succeed. A lot of business owners believe the "lottery winner" mentality. Understand that you will have to make the decision and then make it work. Not making a decision will create a situation later on that will be worse to solve.

Tip #3 Learn and practice the basics:

Most business models have very basic procedures that make them succeed. Most decisions will be based around those procedures. Never make wholesale changes away from what you knew would work when you started. Decide what will have to be done for the decision to improve your situation. Then do it.

Tip #4 Always ask for input (whether there are agreeing or not agreeing)

Having a tough hide is important in being an entrepreneur. You have to be able to see all sides of a topic and at times we get to close to the topic. Sometimes our best advisors will be those that argue the hardest will be those that will help use succeed.

Tip #5 Do not get defensive about your decisions:

When you are defensive it is a normal response to not fully believing in your decisions. When you know that what you have done you do not have to get loud. I have learned that normally the louder the defense the weaker the decision.

Tip #6 Ask Stupid Questions:

It is not more true than it is as a business owner, the only stupid question is the one that does not get asked. If you have a question in your mind, there is a doubt somewhere in your mind. Not having the answer will make your decision weaker and you want the strongest decision possible.

Tip #7 Give yourself a break:

Give yourself a break in several ways. First give yourself a break about your decision. When my dad passed away several years ago the one thing that everyone said about him was he never had any regrets about any decision he had made. He lived with the outcome no matter if it cost him money or made him money. The key was he made his own decision.

Next, while it takes hard work to make a business succeed, you need to give your body and your mind a break. You deserve it, being fresh and strong makes it easier to make those tough decisions. So reenergize and get ready to tackle the tough decisions.

3 Reasons It Is Better To Own A Business than Work A JOb

There are pros and cons with everything, but the benefits of being a business owners far outweigh the cons. Here are 3 reasons why owning a business is better than working at a job.

1. You do not own your job. It is only being rented out to you temporarily. You may think you are safe and secure on your job if you have been employed for awhile, but you better believe as soon as your company needs to cut back on expenses for whatever reason that they will not hesitate to drop you like a bad habit.

2. The tax laws are made for the small business owner. A business owner gets to spend his or her money first and then pay taxes. Small business owners also get to deduct a lot of their expenditures from their taxes.

Employees get taxed out of the ying-yang every time they get a paycheck. Then if they are lucky at the end of year, the government might give them a little bit back on their tax returns.

3. It is hard to get rich working at a job. It is not impossible to get rich working at a job, but it is a challenge...especially if you are financially illiterate.

You also have no leverage at your job, so it will more than likely take you much longer to acquire wealth.

One of the simplest forms of leverage a business owner has is the ability to leverage the time and resources of other people. One way that they can do this is by hiring employees.

If you want to own a business, it is important to realize that there is a learning curve to go through.

An employee may spend anywhere from 4-8 years and tens of thousands of dollars to acquire the skills and knowledge to work at a "good job".

You must also be willing to commit to acquiring the skills, mindset, and knowledge necessary to become a successful business owner.

Much Success,
